Some communities offer “safe deal zones,” where buyers and sellers can meet to exchange goods and money. You can go to SafeDeal.zone to find a nearby location. Oklahoma City, for instance, has four such areas, all within police station lobbies or offices—or in their parking lots. All have video surveillance.
“I have yet to hear of anyone who’s gotten carjacked in the parking lot of a police department,” notes Brad Galbraith, Safe Deal Zone’s founder.
